“CEPS Turda – Quality, Equality and Friendship in schools in Turda”

Project duration: 36 months, between May 2018 and November 2021 (the project was suspended between April-August 2020).
The total budget of the project is: 6,172,973.41 lei
The target group: consists of 800 vulnerable people from Turda.
Objectives
General objective:
Reducing and preventing early school drop-out in disadvantaged communities in Turda, by promoting inclusive education and implementing a system of integrated interventions for formal, non-formal and informal learning, applied at preschool, primary, secondary and ADS (integrated program “Second Chance” type, for young people and adults).
Specific objectives:
Objective 1: Increasing the access to and participation in pre-school education for a minimum of 60 children (minimum 75% Roma children), up to 3 years old and 200 children aged 3-6 years (minimum 75 % Roma children), from Turda, through integrated educational support solutions.
Objective 2: Reducing early school drop-out through integrated measures of preventing and ensuring equal opportunities for a minimum number of 140 students (minimum 75% Roma students), primary school (grades 0-IV) and 340 students from lower secondary / gymnasium (grades V-VIII) in disadvantaged communities in Turda, through inclusive solutions integrated by the programs „School after school” (SDS), intensive educational support (SEI), remedial activities and school motivation through the Mobile School, mentoring, extracurricular activities.
Objective 3: Stimulating the enrollment and participation in the “Second Chance” program – primary education – for 50 young people and adults, who dropped out of school and did not complete primary education.
Objective 4: Development of local mechanisms to support the educational process in Turda, for a period of 36 months.
Activities
Activity 1: Project management;
Activity 2: Project information and publicity;
Activity 3: Educational activities for preschool children (weekly educational workshops for 260 mothers and preschool children, mentoring through mobile school, summer kindergartens, parenting workshops);
Activity 4: Educational activities for school students – 140 primary school students benefiting from “School after school” activities, 240 high school students benefiting from intensive educational support in Romanian and mathematics, mentoring and remedial activities through mobile school in Roma communities in Turda and extracurricular activities;
Activity 5: Second Chance Program for 50 young people who will complete primary education;
Activity 6: Information campaign on the importance of education, lifelong learning, creating and training of a local support group for project activities, activities to promote models of success through education in Roma communities.
